![]() Unfortunately, as I suspect many can relate, I ended up with what I thought would be too small of a budget to afford something decent. The decision to take a chance on something this cheap really paid off for me. Yamaha Ypt 230 Professional Level YamahaI have had a professional level Yamaha QS300 for years (very expensive in its day) and the experience with that keyboard left me with a good impression of Yamaha in general, which is what pushed me over the edge to try the YPT220 as the family gift. As soon as the YPT220 was unwrapped and removed from box it became clear that while very light, the unit is very well constructed. My wife was overjoyed at the feature set, and immediately started going through all the built-in songs. The most suprising feature to me, which I would expect only on a more expensive model, is the realtime display of notes-on-the-staff on the little screen as they are played. AWESOME. Everyone was looking at me as if I had spent a lot of money on this thing. It has at least 6 hours use on batteries.ive used it 6 hours and still going It has withstood my 5 year old grandaughter pounding on it. Overall this is an excellent product and a real bargain if you can catch it on sale.i paid 90.00. Yamaha builds some of the best in the industry and this is no exception. It is a smaller keyboard than our original fullsize at home but does not keep her from playing anything she needs to play for school or fun. Great value for the price and it does come with the power supply although the info online says it does not. ![]() I would recommend this to a friend Helpful (13) Unhelpful (1) Report Comment Midori Midori Rating 5 out of 5 stars with 1 review Best Entry Level Keyboard Posted 11 years ago. Midori This 61-key portable keyboard (YPT-220) is designated entry-level. However, it will certainly satisfy a much more advanced audience. Even with five octaves, It almost has the touch and feel of a real piano. It comes with an AC adaptor, which will save you a ton of batteries over its life.
